St. John’s Lutheran Church believes that all children are precious in the sight of God. Therefore we have made it our goal in this community to provide specialized training for preschool children. Proverbs, the twenty-second chapter, sixth verse says, “Train up a child in the way he should go; and when he is old he will not depart from it.” These words give both parents and the church direction for the Christian training of children.
Christian Education in general is not something that we can elect or reject as we please. It is a necessity for life with God and is, therefore, commanded by God: “And these words which I command you this day shall be upon your heart: and you shall teach them diligently to your children, and shall talk of them when you sit in your house, and when you walk along the road, when you lie down and get up.” Deuteronomy 6:6-7.
We believe that children are a gift from God and that their birth was his marvelous creation. Our mission is to help each individual child develop into and become the total self God has created him or her to be. At the core of his mission is the desire to help each child realize the unconditional love God has for him or her through our Savior Jesus, and to assist each child in learning how to live his or her daily life as a child of God. Each child will be guided in love to grow spiritually, intellectually, emotionally, socially and physically. Our mission is also to help parents in our community by providing a safe environment for their children to grow in the way of the Lord, and to assist their parents in the development of their children.
COVID 19 Statement
July 31, 2020 This has been and continues to be a very trying time for all of us as the COVID 19 pandemic has left us with many unanswered questions, especially regarding re-opening the preschool. As of now we are anticipating opening our school in October. This will give us time to monitor the progression of the pandemic and the re-opening of schools in our area.
Our main focus remains teaching, playing, and sharing God's love with your children in a safe and healthy environment.
Please follow our Facebook page for more information and updates as well as Miss Becky's posts on at home activities for your child. We will send a letter to our families when we have more answers and a definitive start date for school.
If you have sent a check for the deposit and registration fee with you application, it will be held until a start date is determined.
As always if you have any questions, do not hesitate to call the church office or preschool. Please leave a message and your call will be returned.
